Chestnut’s Summer Trail

The Colne Engaine Festival presents… Chestnut’s Summer Trail!

Join Chestnut the Squirrel on an interactive adventure around the beautiful North Essex village of Colne Engaine. Discover the animals that Chestnut encounters on his journey, find out some interesting facts about them and use the QR codes to hear what each animal sounds like!

The trail will be running from Monday 22nd July right through till Monday 8th September. Maps are available from the village show during opening times: 7am-7pm Monday-Saturday and 8.30am-2.30pm on Sundays.

Park at the Recreation Ground Car Park (CO6 2ES) and collect your maps for £1 at the Colne Engaine Village Shop (CO6 2EY). All children who complete a map will receive a sticker and small gift, plus you have the chance to enter a prize draw!

There is a fabulous local village shop at the start and end of the trail, perfect to stock up on drinks and ice creams for the adventure, plus along the way Chestnut passes the Five Bells, a fantastic village pub serving delicious snacks, meals and refreshing drinks. The view from the terrace is the perfect place on a Summer’s day.

This event is organised by the Colne Engaine Festival Committee. Any profits raised will go towards running the Festival in 2020.
